Restore TRUST and ACCOUNTABILITY

As a TRUSTee of the Rockford School Board, this is how I will restore TRUST:

Transparency

Currently, decisions are made in private committee meetings with no public notice, no minutes, and no way for the community to participate. I would end this – no more ‘take it to committee’ deflections that make constituents wonder what happens in the darkness. Trust requires transparency.

  • I pledge to open committees to the public to the greatest extent possible.
  • I pledge to schedule open meetings at the most convenient times to maximize community participation.
  • The FOIA process is treated as a nuisance and not as an essential transparency tool. I pledge to better this process by demanding this mindset of the district, reminding them that it is a part of their job… not a distraction from it.
Fiscal Discipline

Trust means parents and community members are my bosses. I pledge full disclosure on all decisions, honest communication on how these decisions are made, and smart stewardship of your resources.

Parental Rights

Trust means PARENTS are in charge of PARENTING. I pledge to hold the district administration accountable to this non-negotiable principle.

A Personal Focus on Safety

Trust demands real protection, not just defaults to expensive hardware. I have 27 years of experience protecting information and people from threats. I will prioritize proven, people-centered programs that are often harder to implement but are far more effective and less costly.

Future-Proof Education

Trust means preparing kids for the real vocational challenges of life without mismanaged expectations. I strongly support expanding access to non-traditional educational and vocational initiatives.

Build Resilience and Empower Kids

Trust means preparing kids for real life challenges and honest recognition of realities. Life is tough. I want to foster grit, determination, confidence, and proactive mindsets.

Know our Kids

Trust starts young. I’ve seen firsthand how hasty labeling and rigid curricula can damage confidence and create a lifelong aversion to learning. Let’s prioritize knowing our kids deeply from day one, involving families early, and focusing on practical fixes over bureaucratic, one-size-fits-all solutions driven by academic, impersonal, oversimplified diagnoses.
